Epiduo Gel Description:
Epiduo 0.1% / 2.5% gel is a combination of two medicines: Adapalene and Benzoyl Peroxide, which treats acne (pimples). Adapalene is a form of Vitamin A and Benzoyl Peroxide is a keratolytic drug. Together they prevent the build-up of sebum (the skin’s natural oil), unblock the pores and allow the outer layers of the skin to be naturally exfoliated. Benzoyl Peroxide also penetrates the skin and kills bacteria that cause acne.
Epiduo Gel helps treat acne by reducing the production of excessive oil in the skin.
Skin peeling, skin irritation, dry skin, burning sensation at the application site, erythema (reddening of the skin)
This medicine is intended for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration recommended by your doctor. Check the label for instructions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying unless hands are the affected area.
Instructions for Use:
Epiduo Gel should be gently applied to the acne-affected skin area once a day in the evening, preferably at bedtime. The skin should be cleaned and dried before use. Wash hands before and after application.
Does it matter when I use Epiduo Gel?
No, you can use it in the morning or evening, or as directed by your doctor. It is better to use it every day at the same time, so as not to be distracted from the routine. It is important not to skip days so that Epiduo Gel can continue to work.
How much Epiduo Gel should be used?
Follow your doctor’s instructions, but usually a pea-sized amount evenly distributed over each affected area of the face is ideal. Using more will not speed up the process, and is not the best option for pinpoint processing. Stick to the correct amount and stay consistent.
What if I forget to use Epiduo Gel?
Skipping a day of treatment can lead to the formation of new pimples under the skin’s surface. Therefore, try to make Epiduo Gel a part of your daily routine. If you miss a day, just start the next day with the same pea-sized amount you always apply to each affected area of your face and you’ll be back on track.
