Overview
Tiova rotacaps is designed to manage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. It works by relaxing airway muscles, making breathing easier and relieving symptoms such as chest tightness, shortness of breath, wheezing, and coughing.
How to Use
This medicine is strictly for inhalation and should be used as prescribed by your doctor. The first dose is given under medical supervision to prevent any adverse effects. For best results, take it at the same time every day. While it helps prevent breathing difficulties, it does not provide immediate relief during an asthma attack. Always carry a rescue inhaler for emergencies.
Dosage & Administration
- Do not swallow the capsule.
- Place it in the base of a rotahaler, not the mouthpiece.
- Twist the mouthpiece until you hear a click and inhale deeply.
- Hold your breath for up to 10 seconds.
- If any powder remains, repeat the process.
Possible Side Effects
Most side effects are mild and resolve as your body adjusts to the medication. The most common side effect is dry mouth. To manage this, increase water intake, chew sugar-free candy, or maintain good oral hygiene. If side effects persist, consult your doctor.
Precautions
Before using this medication, inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are taking other medicines. Some drugs may interfere with its effectiveness.
How It Works
This inhalation treatment acts by relaxing the airway muscles, helping them expand for smoother airflow. This mechanism significantly improves breathing and alleviates respiratory symptoms.
