Ceftriaxone and Tazobactam Injection Descrption:
Intacef Tazo Ceftriaxone and Tazobactam Injection contains Ceftriaxone as an active ingredient. It is an antibiotic for severe infections.
Uses of Ceftriaxone and Tazobactam Injection:
- In treatment of Pneumonia, Haemorrhagic Septicemia, Mastitis, Cystitis, Metritis, Infectious Osteoarthritis and peri-operative care.

It helps to treat the following conditions in animals:
- Infection of the brain
- Respiratory tract infections (Pneumonia and COPD)
- Ear infections
- Abdominal infections
- Infection of urinary tract
- Bone and joint infection
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Gonorrhoea and syphilis (sexually transmitted disease in both male and female genital organs)
- Infection of the lining of the heart and heart valve
- Infection caused by tick bite
- Infection of the surgical site before operation
Side Effects of Ceftriaxone and Tazobactam Injection:
Some common side effects of this injection include:
- Increased number of eosinophils (Eosinophilia)
- Decreased number of leucocytes (Leucopenia)
- Diarrhea, loose stools
- Increased liver enzymes
- Rash
- Fungal infections
- Decrease in white blood cells (Granulocytopenia)
- Decreased red blood cells (Anaemia)
- Bleeding disorder like coagulopathy (a condition in which the ablity of blood to form clots is decreased)
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Itching at injection site
- Pain at the injection site
- Fever
- Increased creatinine levels in blood
Dosage of Ceftriaxone and Tazobactam Injectable:
Dose for Cattle & Buffalo:
5-10mg/kg b.wt
Dose for Calf, Sheep & Goat:
10-15mg/kg b.wt
Dose for Dog & Cat
15-25mg/kg b.wt daily for 3-5 days. I/M or I/V route
