Topotec 2.5mg Injection Description:
Topotec 2.5mg Injection is an anti-cancer medication. It is an inhibitor of topoisomerase, an enzyme important for replication of genetic material (DNA) in the cancer cells. Thus it stops the growth and multiplication of cancer cells.
Uses:
Topotec 2.5mg Injection is used in the treatment of ovarian cancer, small cell lung cancer, cervical cancer and cancer of colon and rectum.
Side Effects:
Fatigue, Nausea, Vomiting, Hair loss, Low blood platelets, Anemia (low number of red blood cells), Infection, Decreased white blood cell count (neutrophils), Fever, Mucosal inflammation, Weakness, Diarrhoea, Decreased white blood cell count, Decreased appetite, Abdominal pain, Constipation.
Dosage:
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Topotec 2.5mg Injection may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
