Lexcof Expectorant Description:
Lexcof Expectorant is a combination of four medicines: guaifenesin, chlorpheniramine, dextromethorphan and phenylpropanolamine which relieve cough. Guaifenesin is an expectorants which decreases the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and helps in its removal from the airways. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Phenylpropanolamine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
Uses:
Lexcof Expectorant is used in the treatment of dry cough.
Side Effects:
Nausea, Diarrhoea, Stomach upset, Vomiting, Stomach pain, Dizziness, Headache, Rash, Urticaria, Sleepiness, Increased blood pressure, Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), Palpitations.
Dosage:
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Lexcof Expectorant may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
