Apitat Syrup Description:
Apitat Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Cyproheptadine, tricholine citrate and sorbitol which revive appetite. Cyproheptadine is an appetite-stimulant. It works by reducing the effect of serotonin (a chemical messenger) in the hypothalamus, a part of the brain which regulates appetite. Tricholine citrate is a bile acid binding agent. It removes bile acids from the body. The liver then produces more bile acids using cholesterol, as a result, the levels of cholesterol in the body is lowered. Sorbitol acts as a syrup base and also as an osmotic laxative to relieve constipation.

Apitat Syrup is used as appetite stimulant.
Side Effects:
Constipation, Dryness in mouth, Drowsiness, Sleepiness, Blurred vision.
Dosage:
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Apitat Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
